Handmade in England soft wood Chitting Tray for chitting potatoes and other tubers before planting out. Chitting is a method of encouraging seed potatoes to sprout before planting out to maximise crop. Chitting is usually done in January to February about six weeks before planting out. Using seed potatoes, which have a rounder blunt end with a number of eyes (sprouting parts), simply remove all but 3 or 4 of the eyes to encourage stronger growth. Once the sprouts reach 1.5cm - 2.5cm in length you can plant out. Trays are stackable.
This Haws branded chitting tray is handmade in England and is supplied fully assembled.
